This season will be remembered as a season of what might have
been. Our seniors reached the semi-final of the Bank of Ireland Cup with big victories over Sligo
, Loreto Dublin and Castleblaney. In the penultimate game against Mercy Waterford in the Wildacts
Gym we fell at the final hudle by a margin of four points in a game we could and
should have won. Hoewver, full credit to our old rivals Mercy Waterford who went on to win the final
with considerable ease.
In the Senior League the quarter-final
stage saw us pitted against another Waterford outfit, Ursulines , and again came up short in Thurles.
Our Cadettes reached the
Kerry semi-finals but found Pres. Castleisland too strong overall and they went on to win
the Kerry final. Second Years have surpassed themselves by qualifying for the All-Ireland
tournament in Limerick. they will play off against eight of the best teams for the right
to contest the Junior 'A' All-Ireland final.
The First Years played well throughout the season but lost the Kerry semi-final
to a very good Pres. Killarney team and thereby lost out on a chance to play in the Qualifying tournament
in Monaghan.
